From 95 North, take exit 182A to merge onto I-395E. Then, from I-395E, take exit 6A to merge onto U.S. 1A E toward Ellsworth/Bar Harbor. Continue to follow U.S. 1A E/Coastal Route for approximately 23 miles. Pass through Ellsworth via High St., and continue on via Bar Harbor Rd./ME 3E. Cross the Trenton Bridge and continue onto Mount Desert Island, veering right off the bridge (passing the Parkadia gas station on your left) onto to ME 102S/Me 198S. Pass the Somesville One-Stop gas station on your left and make a left turn at the light onto ME 198S/ME 3W/Sound Dr. Continue straight along Sound Dr. for approximately 3 miles. ME 198S/Sound Dr. becomes ME 198S/Harborside Rd. Pass through the town of Northeast Harbor via Harborside Rd. (one-way street). Make a right onto Neighborhood Rd. and then a left onto Cove End Rd. Near the end of Cove End Rd. make a right into the Northeast Harbor Fleet parking lot. Park here and continue on foot. Make a right onto South Shore Rd. Walk down hill approximately 25 yds. to find the Northeast Harbor Fleet building and grounds on your left, a one-story cedar shake building with gravel walkways surrounded by a stonewall.
