Sailing School

The Northeast Harbor Sailing School is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing sailing instruction to the summer and year-round residents of Mt. Desert Island, Maine. Situated on Gilpatricks Cove in Northeast Harbor, the sailing school shares the facilities of the Northeast Harbor Fleet and provides a safe, enjoyable learning environment to children of all ages.

The school maintains individual fleets of 420s, optimists, and mercurys. Classes are available to children of Fleet members and their guests. Special student memberships are available for children of non-fleet members seeking sailing or rowing instruction. The school’s highly qualified instructors also offer private lessons to adults at any ability level.
